High altitude composting at a ski resort
Article Abstract:
Colorado's Keystone Resort uses an in-vessel system for processing restaurant food residuals into compost. The system uses a biofilter, bulking agents, shredded paper and wood waste, manure from the resort's stables, and an auger for mixing. The system can process 200 pounds per day of feedstock.
