The required Integrated Risk Management Plan (IRMP) has improved the fire prevention measures of the West Midlands Fire and Rescue Service (WMFS). The WMFS intiatives to modernize its services have also altered the way by which the United Kingdom Fire and Rescue Service plans for community service. An evaluation of the progress made by the WMFS is given.
