Let it rain (if you have the right drainage)
Article Abstract:
Urban expansion increases handling problems for municipal stormwater disposal systems as open land and soil absorption decrease and runoff increases. Since many storm sewers already operate near maximum capacity, above-ground collection ponds have been considered. Although the method was cost-effective, it raised land use, clogging and other problems. A better option is the development of underground retention and/or detention systems, which maximizes land use while minimizing maintenance problems.
