NAPCOR seeks market for colored PET bottles
Article Abstract:
The National Association for PET Container Resources (NAPCOR), a Charlotte, NC-based organization, is looking for entities that would accept polyethylene teraphthalate (PET) bottles in non-traditional colors for recycling. The association said that although clear and light green PET bottles are being recycled, other colors are being segregated. Luke B. Schmidt, president of NAPCOR, said that there are some worries about how the recycling industry would accept unique PET bottle designs that use different opaque and translucent colors. The association is offering a package that includes a financial grant over a two-year period to any entity that will process the non-traditional bottles.
