National co-ordination and dedication for flood response
Article Abstract:
The National Flood Support Team (NFST) played a vital role in identifying the water rescue resources of multiple agencies available in the UK during the summer floods of 2007. The CLG Emergency Information Support Group managed the use of new dimension such as high volume pumps while the Fire and Rescue Service (FRS) National Control and Coordination Centre managed the deployment of new dimension and water rescue assets across the UK.

Funding support for flood victims
Article Abstract:
The plans of the British government to provide extra funds for the welfare of uninsured flood victims, besides providing special assistance to local authorities in disaster management are discussed.
