Practical applications of on-farm composting technology
Article Abstract:
Livestock growers in Michigan found a solution to their problems in odor control by using composting. The potentials of the composting as a manure management alternative led to the establishment of the Michigan Manure Management Demonstration Project. The project is testing manure composting in different settings including landfills and are determining the most effective mix ratio of manure composted with yard trimmings or manure composted with straw and sawdust.
