Recycling collection technologies
Article Abstract:
Recyclable materials collection technologies are varied and waste managers usually use one that applies to his areas' circumstances. However, waste managers do not have working definitions of these technologies. The Illinois Recycling Assn came up with definitions of some of the collection technologies such as source separated collection, cocollection and mixed waste collection with material recovery. Waste managers select any one of these according to the criteria in his area such as convenience to residents, adaptability and processing costs.

Organics residuals management strategies
Article Abstract:
The Norwegian government has instituted policies designed to foster the source separation of organic residuals. Source separated organics, also known as biowaste, are composed of food residuals, yard trimmings, waste paper and other compostable materials. The policies are intended to lessen the production and emission of greenhouse gases from landfills and to lessen the quantity of wastes sent to landfills. The preferred options for biowaste management are composting, anaerobic digestion and conversion to animal feed.
