Treating wastewater in constructed wetlands
Article Abstract:
An innovative research outfit at the TVA Center in Muscle Shoals, A, is studying the intricacies of the effectiveness of wetlands. Data gathered from the research will enable experts to apply this particular approach to other uses. The study includes processes of filtration and purification in cells to meet domestic quality criteria. Plants are then introduced into the cells to see if they can control toxicity in wastewaters. The information coming from plant observations will be an important foundation to comprehending processes undergone by contaminants and in drafting effective control techniques for removal of impurities.

Financing water/wastewater products and projects in the international markeplace
Article Abstract:
The integration of US government resources with the private sector is needed in financing international water and wastewater projects. Foreign customers must be provided with extended payment term financing, not only to win the initial contract, but also to establish a long-term relationship. Companies that are successful in winning contracts for these projects are those that take a proactive approach in using extended payment terms and other non-traditional marketing tools.
