What does plastic cost a yard trimmings composter?
Article Abstract:
The plastic containers of yard trimmings can increase the overhead cost of composters substantially. Among the additional costs the facility has to shoulder are debagging and handling of non-compostable containers. The use of a compostable container for materials destined for the compost heap may initially cost more because the containers are more expensive but the returns will be greater because the facility does not have to shoulder the cost of debagging and handling the plastic bags. Further, the compost will have less contamination and will command a better price.

Rotational bunker system composts sheep offal
Article Abstract:
An overview is presented on the processes used by the Olds College Composting Technology Centre in Alberta, Canada, to compost sheep carcasses and offal. The animal waste is loaded into a rotational bunker lined with sawdust and wood chips, which is then dumped into a mixer and homogenized. The resultant material rotates to three more bunkers which control temperature and oxygen.
