A brief review on the work and success of Robert Dominguez Jr., CEO of Ambreco Inc. who was awarded the 2003 Small Business Person of the Year by the SBA's Dallas-Fort Worth District Office is presented. Ambreco that started as a part-time cement contractor for local retail and residential buildings by 2004 manages about 20 construction projects across Texas.

Business in the construction sector in the first half of 2003 was not good compared to 2002 due to economic slowdown, competition in the market and collapse in the technology sector. However, it is expected that a rebound in the sales tax would restart public project spending in the second half of 2003.
