Business leaders must make education a priority
Article Abstract:
Washington Economics Group Inc.'s chief economist Robert D. Cruz states that the principal reason educational attainment is lower among Hispanics is the high incidence of Hispanic immigration. About one-third of all legal immigrants were Hispanic in the 1980s, coming from countries with low levels of education. Economic pressures also make the pursuit of education and training difficult for Hispanic children.
