Article Abstract:
Eminent archaeologist and scholar Seton Lloyd died on Jan 7, 1996. He was an authority on ancient Asian studies, particularly ancient Near Eastern archaeology. His stint as an architect trainee and experience at Tel el Amarna in Egypt under Sir Edwin Lutyens was of immense help in his career. He joined archaeologists in Iraq and helped in unearthing new pottery culture and documents at Hassuna and Tell Harmal. He was associated with prominent archaeological institutions and museums in Iraq and Britain.

Notre-Dame de Haut, the chapel designed by Le Courbusier at Ronchamp, France, is situated 1.5 km up a steep hillside. However, it is a popular destination for architecture enthusiasts, and remains an extremely influential building. The journey there can be rather tedious, but this is forgotten as soon as the chapel comes into sight.
