The 2002 Society tour to Inner Mongolia and North East China (Manchuria)
Article Abstract:
The author describes a 2002 journey beginning in Beijing, China, and traveling through inner Mongolia and Manchuria, an itinerary based on Francis Younghusband's travels in 1886 and 1887. Tour members found evidence suggesting China is expending much energy on establishing its claim in Tibet, and its presence in territories seized from India and Russia.
