A taste for tradition: our contest winners share their favorite family recipes

Five award-winning recipes in Parenting magazine's sixth annual recipe contest reflect family tradition and have been a part of family history. Lee Meyers' Brunch Puff was served at most of her family's holiday celebrations, while Meredith Slivers' Chicken Paprikash was always prepared by her mother for special occasions.

A low temperature should be used to melt chocolate for cooking because it is very heat-sensitive. If a microwave oven is used, a medium heat setting should be used. Six recipes are presented, including chocolate-orange fondue, mock truffles, and dipped dried fruit.
