Children with SED and their families in an urban public mental health system: characteristics, needs, and expectations
Article Abstract:
This article provides an evaluation of urban mental health services for severely emotionally disturbed children. The authors examine the impact on the families and the benefits to the children receiving treatment, and argue that enhancing mental health services with recreational activities and after school programs help the children and take pressure off of the families.

The Ohio scales: practical outcome assessment
Article Abstract:
This article provides an evaluation of the Ohio Scales, a psychometric tool used to forecast treatment outcomes for children and teenagers receiving mental health services. The authors conclude that initial studies demonstrate that the Ohio Scales is a valid and effective tool, however, they suggest more studies be conducted.
