Effective parenting as the integration of lessons and dialogue
Article Abstract:
Issues regarding parenting as based on the theory that ecosystem contingencies and rules have a contradictory way of governing a child's social growth. Rules outline principles of communal control operating beyond a child's direct influence, while contingencies inform the child about self control tactics. Parents travel with their children through lessons teaching contingency control and through dialogue fostering the children's awareness about the limited nature of their control.

Formal characteristics of narratives as predictors of maladaptive parenting
Article Abstract:
The hypothesis that maladaptive parenting behavior is associated with the structural and affective aspects of stories narrated by parents was proven by examining the responses of mothers to the Thematic Apperception Test. It was observed that certain parental behavior during storytelling, such as their use of extraneous statements and reference to their own task-specific inadequacies, are related to the mothers' failure in remaining firm when faced with child protest.
