Family structure and interpersonal relationship quality in young adults
Article Abstract:
A significant relationship exists between relationship anxiety, family adaptability as well as conflict management skills and interpersonal relationship quality. Hierarchical multiple regression analysis was used to study the extent to which some personal, interpersonal and family characteristics were associated with interpersonal relationship quality of young adults. Young adults from divorced families with higher levels of relationship anxiety were found to have substantially lower levels of interpersonal relationship quality than those from intact families.
