Maltreated children's emotional and behavioral problems: do teachers and parents see the same things?
Article Abstract:
This article examines the differences between teacher/therapist and parent/caregiver perceptions of abused children's behavior problems. Thirty-three preschoolers, who have been physically, sexually, or emotionally abused, with behavior problems were viewed differently by the parents/caregivers and the teachers/therapists, with one of the possible reasons being teachers/therapists and parent/caregivers have different expectations of the children.

A child trauma treatment pilot study

The authors present a trauma treatment program for the care of children exposed to psychic trauma such as physical or sexual abuse. Topics include caregiver education, use of cognitive behavioral therapy, and management of problem social relations.
