Reporting and interpreting results in family research
Article Abstract:
Data analysis that focuses on an intuitive understanding of the nature of the findings, the strength of the association and the significance of the result is recommended as an alternative method of presenting quantitative research on the family. Presentation of research findings tends to interpret findings based on statistics rather than substance and to discuss purely statistical findings that may not serve as accurate indicators of the diversity of responses. It also utilizes probability level as an indicator of the importance of results.

Utilizing data from multiple family members: a within-family approach
Article Abstract:
Current techniques for utilizing data from multiple family members pose a number of problems. These techniques bring further problems with the fact that they are applied evenly across families. Q factor analysis is introduced as a technique of integrating data from multiple family members in such a way that these data will be unique to every family studied, thus avoiding the confounding of within- and between-family assessments.

Bridging the individual and the family
Article Abstract:
Integrating the study of individuals and families is based on the theories and programs of developmental psychology and family sociology, and further research on family-individual linkages are required. Much more research on emotional processes needs to take place. A life course perspective focusing on families is multidisciplinary and focuses on the life period or life cycle.
