The role of general family functioning in the quality of mother- daughter relationship of female African American juvenile offenders
Article Abstract:
The role of adolescent- parent relationships in African American female juvenile delinquency is discussed. The results of the McMaster Family Assessment Device (FAD) and the Assessment of Interpersonal Relations show that mother- daughter relationships play a major role for such females.

Examining the link between neighborhood cohesion and school outcomes: the role of support coping among African American adolescent girls
Article Abstract:
The relations between neighborhood cohesion along with parent and adult social support coping, and school achievement outcomes in African American adolescent girls are examined. Higher grades, self-efficacy and teacher support are also analyzed.
