The partnership trap
Article Abstract:
Wayne Lewis knows much about choosing a business partner. In the early 1980s, Lewis agreed to a partnership with Reg Kellaway to set up PC Rentals. While the company was doing $3 mil worth of business in 1989, the basic business infrastructure was wrong because it was being control by Kellaway. With Kellaway's expansion ambitions, he was spending more than the business was earning. Lewis, after the recession of 1990, was forced to sell his restaurant, cars, and investment properties to pay off his debts.
