A gourmet capital gets back to work

Article Abstract:

New Orleans and the Gulf Coast are starting to return to their original standards, a few weeks after Hurricane Katrina occurred in August 2005, thus displaying tremendous determination and a good amount of faith. The restaurant industry is crucial to the rebuilding process, and top restaurant owners and chefs are leading the way, eager to reopen, assist their staffs and organize relief efforts.

New Orleans restaurant rebuild: Months after the storm, hard work, lost wine and small victories

The recovery efforts of New Orleans a few months after Hurricane Katrina hit the city in December 2005 are progressing very slowly. Owners and chefs are grappling with every problem imaginable, from cleaning out or demolishing damaged kitchens to securing new appliances and supplies to finding staff in an empty city.

New Orleans' rebirth

Article Abstract:

New Orleans has yet to recover from the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina, which also affected the tourism and the food industry, but some restaurants continue to operate in an effort to rebuild the city. A list of various restaurants and hotels in the city is presented.
