Article Abstract:
A personal evaluation is made of the products of the Robert Mondavi Winery, in the wake of a $30 million wine making facility launched to improve its Cabernet program. It is suggested that many of the Mondavi wines are less ripe, leaner and have higher levels of acidity.

Evaluations of 20 cabernet wines made by Opus One vineyard from different vintage years are given. The Napa Valley 1998, 1997 and 1996 received top ratings. The price range of the wines evaluated is from $115 to $265.
