The world's standard for Cabernet Sauvignon is Bordeaux, with Cabernet-based wines from the Medoc subregion variously powerful and firm with reserved fruit, mineral and spice flavors or soft with great finesse. Winemaking of the region is greatly enhanced by the soil and climatic conditions, and technological innovations.
