Germans acquire a taste for honey
Article Abstract:
Germany consumes more honey than any other European country, having an average annual per capita consumption of 1.4kg. Speciality varieties, which now account for over 40% of all honey consumed in Germany, seem to be the primary drivers of growth. Domestic honey output was affected by poor weather during the key spring and summer harvests, which only met roughly half of the demand for the product.
