Issues relating to the difficulty in selecting great wine from the Burgundy region is presented. Problems exist with the issues of vine ownership and the control of quality at source, and label designations add to confusion about the contents of the bottles.

The Domaine J.-A. Ferret, Domaine Michel Bouzereau & Fils and Thierry Hamelin wineries in France produce excellent wines from their grapes. The production methods for making the wine are described, and the best vintages from 1994 are listed.

Article Abstract:

The 1992 Burgundy vintage is expected to be good, but quantity will not be great. Burgundy had better weather than the rest of Europe, with the region's fairly normal season helping matters.
