Adams published 'The Commonsense Book of Wine' in 1954 and later released new editions of the book. It is still timely. Adams was a tireless promoter of wine and founded the Wine Advisory and helped to found the Wine Institute. Several of his best quotes are presented.

The quality of Kendall-Jackson wines has been spotty in recent years due to growth at the winery. While many of its wines are disappointing and somewhat overpriced, others are still quite good. Several specific wines are discussed.
