Article Abstract:
The American Center for Wine, Food and the Arts is scheduled to open in Napa Valley in the fall of 2001. The center was the brainchild of Robert Mondavi, and then gained support from other local vintners and growers. The center will have a broad geographic focus, highlighting California winemaking as well as winemaking in other US regions.

The culinary legacy of Peter Kump

Peter Kump, who died at age 57 in Jun 1995, was instrumental in creating the James Beard Foundation. Devoted to culinary excellence, Kump worked tirelessly to fund the foundation, which showcases the work of fine chefs. Kump's New York Cooking School is also discussed.
