Don't get fooled again

Article Abstract:

Maynard Amerine, America's leading wine advocate, merged his scientific mind with the aesthetics of wine appreciation and helped vintners make better wines. His books, 'Wines: Their Sensory Evaluation' with Edward Roessler, and 'Wine: An Introduction' with Vernon Singleton, are dated, but many of the passages, perspective, insights and no-nonsense commentary on wine, winemakers and romantic notions thereof come across as purely and refreshingly Amerine.
