Article Abstract:
The red wines of Bordeaux's first-growth wine estates set the standards for red wines around the world. Margaux, Latour, Lafite, Mouton and Haut-Brion are the five top-ranked first-growths that are located in two of the four key subappellations of the Medoc and farther afield in the district of Pessac-Leognan, extending beyond the outskirts of the city of Bordeaux.
