Insignia shows off California Cabernet History
Article Abstract:
A tasting of the wines of Joseph Phelps Insignia was conducted at the November, 1998 California Wine Experience in San Francisco, CA. Wines were tasted from vintages from the 1975 to the present. Phelps had experimented with various blending techniques. The winery has had to battle tannins until realizing that the site of the vineyard has a big role in determining flavor.

Wine with chile peppers? Try a cold chenin blanc
Article Abstract:
The Texas Hill Country Wine and Food Festival served breadsticks that were seasoned with peppers with varying amounts of spiciness. People who attended the Apr 1996 event determined that white wines that are slightly sweet tasted the best with the peppered breadsticks.

California Sauvignon Blanc on track
Article Abstract:
Sauvignon Blanc wines are rated on a scale of one to 100, with tasting notes provided. Most of the vintages are 1994 and 1995, and three are 1993. The current crop is good, with many of the weedy flavors gone from California Sauvignon Blancs.
