Julia Child honored at AIWF gala in Washington, D.C
Article Abstract:
Chef Julia Child's 85th birthday was celebrated at the AIWF's 1997 Annual Rare Wine Auction, which raised $107,500 for the Institute's education programs and publications. Child is a co-founder of AIWF. Several wines sold at the auction are discussed.

Public Radio auction breaks own record with $164,000

KCRW, Southern California's National Public Radio station, took in $164 at its Jun 1997 Summerday Wine, Dine and Travel Auction. Proceeds from the seventh-annual West Hollywood event will go toward the station's programming fund.
