Constellation wine group is facing innumerable challenges in reconstructing the tainted Robert Mondavi Winery taking it over in the year 2004. One of the biggest concerns is that Constellation would try to grow the winery too fast and beyond its means.

Chalone's stark reality

The take over of two Napa Valley Wineries by the Chalone Wine Group will hopefully improve the company's ailing fortune. Dan Karlsen, Chalone's winemaker since 1998, has introduced changes aimed at correcting inconsistent wine quality.

Moone walk II

Michael Moone has returned to Wine World Estates to become its chairman in what is his second tour of duty with the company. He ran it from 1983-90, during which time Beringer Vineyards became one of the best winemakers in California.
