Robert Redford talks about wine

The renowned actor Robert Redford has pursued a love of wine from Paris to Napa to Sundance and he is also a dedicated environmentalist who's concerned about the agricultural practices of the wine industry. He expresses his concern for the environment, the Sundance Celebrating Wine as Art program and also his Sundance Institute in Utah, best known for its annual Sundance Film Festival.

Breaking the mold
Article Abstract:
The microbe yeast species Brettanomyces bruxellensis, known as brett develops depending on the chemistry of juice or wine at any stage of production process, including after bottling. Brett accounts for 90 percent of the spoilage problems in premium red wines, however, winemakers emphasize that it isn't a question of eradicating brett so much as keeping it in check.

The science of closures
Article Abstract:
The merits and demerits of natural corks and other alternative closures are scientifically and practically analyzed. Conclusions reveal that irrespective of the differences among closures, every stopper must succeed in preserving wine and create conditions, which favor proper development in bottles.
