Searching for great Tuscan wines: Focus on Brunello di Montalcino in 2001 and Chianti Classico Riserva in 2003

Article Abstract:

Excellent Tuscan red wines are produced from Sangiovese and other indigenous grapes such as Colorino and Canaiolo, with Brunello di Montalcino 2001 and the 2003 Chianti Classicos (especially the riserva-style wines) being outstanding. The existence of too many wineries producing too many wines, with little difference among them in character or quality may be a drawback, but Tuscan reds are of very high quality, and great whites can also be produced with more dedication from wine makers.
