Napa's image and reputation have become unequivocally associated with king Cabernet country but Sonoma wine has come to be identified by its diversity and in many respects made Sonoma, California's most dynamic wine territory with it two grapes in particular, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.

The flavor of white Zin, which is generated by Zinfandel grapes, is discussed. The cloning of Zinfandel grapes is examined and it is stated by Carol Meredith, one of the world's leading authority on grapevine identification that the new clones could be a boon for Zinfandel.
