Article Abstract:
Evaluations of nine rioja wines made by Artadi and El Coto de Rioja are presented. The Artadi Rioja Grandes Anadas Reserva 1994, which sells for $130 a bottle, received the highest rating. The price range of the other wines evaluated is $11 to $65 a bottle.

A vertical tasting of Rioja spans the period of 1970 through 1990. Wines are rated on a scale of 100, and no comments are included. The highest rating went to a 1975 Marques de Murrieta Gran Reserva at $35 a bottle. It is rated 93.
