Swedish food chain Grona Konsum boosts organic food sales
Article Abstract:
Grona Konsum, part of Swedish retailer Kooperativa Forbundet, said sales of organic food have more than doubled in the last two years. In 1998 alone, sales rose by 43%, equal to 4.5% of all food sold in the group's 435 outlets. The trend is set to continue, with sales of organic food expected to reach 35 000 tonnes this year. That would amount to approximately 10% of total sales in the Grona Konsum store chain.
