The wine selection for the Top 10 wines of 2005 was based on score, value, availability and excitement. The list included Rosenblum Zinfandel Rockpile Road Vineyard 2003, the Castello Banfi Brunello di Montaleino Poggio all'Oro Riserva 1999 and the Sette Ponti Toscana Oreno 2003 in a list of five wines from California, two from Tuscany, one each from the Rhone and Chile, and Chateau d'Yquem, the most famous Sauternes.
