Mediterranean food which is a combination of cultures surrounding the Mediterranean Sea inclusive of Southern Europe, North Africa, and Eastern Mediterranean, has great health benefits and strong aroma making it very popular in the United States. The main spices and ingredients like yoghurt, lamb, olives forming an integral part of Mediterranean cuisine are discussed and wines typical to the region are mentioned.
