True to type: Germany's 2004 Rieslings show pure flavors and crisp profiles

The 2004 vintage for Riesling in Germany offers a return to wine styles more typical of the country's northerly winegrowing regions achieving both quality and quantity and having plenty to offer with its crisp structures and pure fruit flavors. The fruit, for the most part, is harvested ripe and healthy, and the wines are true to type.

The new golden age of Riesling
Article Abstract:
The 1997 Rieslings from Germany are of very high quality. The prices range from $15 for a kabinetts to $40 for an auslesen. Not all the German wine regions, however, produced high quality wines. The favored wines come from the growers who harvested late.
