An elegant meal is suggested for the office. The recipes include chicken cashew chili, cheddar corn bread, frisee and watercress salad with jicama and oranges, and poached pears with ginger and port. The meal can be made ahead of time and heated in the office microwave. It serves two.

A tender filet mignon can be made into a warm meal for the winter season through poaching. Horseradish, mustard and grain quinoa could be added to give it a distinctive taste. Recipes for poached filet mignons, cider and calvados gelees are provided.
