Diet, micronutrients, and the prostate gland
Article Abstract:
Futher research is necessary to determine a possible link between nutrition, micronutrients and adenocarcinoma and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), two diseases of the prostate gland. The strongest association between nutrition and an increased risk of prostate cancer appears to be related to total fat intake. Further study is need to determine the role of zinc, selenium, vitamin E, lycopene, phytoestrogens, and phytosterols and prostrate cancer.@

Childhood energy intake and cancer mortality in adulthood
Article Abstract:
Animal studies from the early 1900s suggest a reduced calorie diet can decrease the incidence of tumors. A British study from the 1930s found a positive correlation between childhood energy intake and adult cancer mortality. Fat intake may be associated with cancers of the prostate and colon. Many animal studies induce cancer by the application of chemicals, radiation, or viruses, so their results may not be relevant to humans.
