Sparkling rose's blush comes from either prolonged contact with the skins of red grapes or, more commonly, a dose of red wine, usually Pinot Noir along with the red grapes that give the sparkler backbone. The balancing act of complexity and brightness makes sparkling rose an invigorating before-dinner drink and a solid match for many summer party foods.
