The novel 'La Montagne R' (1996) by Jacques Jouet is an example of the author's literary experimentation. Jouet questions the limitations of language as a heuristic instrument and as a means of conveying truth. The three sections of the work deal with contemporary political discourse, language in everyday, personal settings, and literary language. Jouet engages the reader in a collaborative game, playful in a way that promotes serious reflection.

The voice, or what a person says and how it is said, is one way to reveal personality and uniqueness. Unfortunately, people learn in school to say and write what others want to hear, and voices begin to change with society's influence, rather than reveal what is truly felt.
