The unconventional salad

Article Abstract:

A combination of greens and herbs, such as organically raised edible flowers and fresh dill, makes an a good salad. Greens need not be carefully dried. Kirby tomatoes are good in salads, as are sweet young onions and fennel. A method of preparing tomatoes is discussed.

Most large grocery stores now stock an abundance of produce and exotic foodstuffs such as shiitake mushrooms, lemongrass, tamari, jicama and cactus pads. However, there are few items that now seem scarce such as rennet tablets and lamb shanks.
