Bring out the silver: Clinic & Show turns 25
Article Abstract:
The 25th annual Wood Technology Clinic & Show was held Mar 12-14, 1997, in Portland, OR. The convention attracted a high number of attendees and a record number of exhibitors, and 62 workshop sessions were held on a variety of topics. Featured speakers included Georgia-Pacific Corp. exec VP John Rasor, who addressed future wood supplies, and publisher Charles Widman, who discussed the future of competitive products.

Who depressed US lumber prices? Not Canada
Article Abstract:
Low lumber prices are the result of Asian economic woes and higher production in the US. Canada has decreased its lumber production in 1998 when compared with 1996. US sawmills produced 851 million additional board feet in 1997 when compared with 1996 and 877 million additional board feet in 1998 when compared with 1997.
