Evaluation of collection-well parameters for DNAPL
Article Abstract:
Effectiveness of the different pumping-system designs for the recovery of nonaqueous phase liquids (NAPL) and the potential for collection of the dense NAPL (DNAPL) were reported. NAPLs and DNAPLs results from spills and leaks and cleanup is quite expensive. It was found that removing some DNAPL as a separated phase is possible, and that as DNAPL saturation decreases, so does its permeability and mobility. A corresponding increase of water saturation and thus an increase in permeability and mobility results.

Is free trade in the interest of exporting countries when there is ecological dumping?
Article Abstract:
Welfare-maximizing governments of exporting countries prefer free trade even if local industries are subsidized indirectly through ecological dumping. The analysis can be employed to other national policy measures with trade-related side effects. Lesser environmental taxes, for instance, can be interpreted as the reduction of working and social standards, health regulations, provision of government grants and local infrastructure.
