Article Abstract:
A model for simulating the workings of behavioral change after the introduction of new information technology that would increase the company's competitive edge is presented. Team work assumes importance as traditional bureaucratic hierarchies become obsolete. This new style of management, in turn, demands the development of a performance-oriented work culture and the nurturing of an employee base that is learning-inclined and skilled at cooperative and collaborative relationships.

Work-team implementation
Article Abstract:
The Total-Team Concept was applied at the Frigidaire Co. plant in Jefferson, IA, on Dec. 1, 1991 to improve plant efficiency and customer relations. The process began with the listing of positive factors present in the plant such as harmonious labor relations and production stability. Managers and personnel were then divided into two teams: machining and assembly. Teams were made up of one facilitator and maintenance person and members.

The various components of the working culture of an organzation can undermine change. Behavior has the strongest influence on change and is driven by the motive, mirror and motor. The motive is the desire for change while the mirror involves the impartial assessment existing behavior by members of the organization through introspective reflection. The motor involves efforts to control and improve behavior.
