Broadcasters report increase in PSA use for community causes
Article Abstract:
A survey conducted by the National Assn of Broadcasters revealed that local radio and television stations have donated a total of $8.1 billion in announcements from Aug 1998 to Jul 1999, up from the $6.25 billion the preceding year. Both radio and TV are looking for well-written 10- and 30- second announcements that have a local focus. The topics most favored by the media are anti-crime, drunk driving, women's health, fund-raising drives and children's issues.

New product proposes to help manage hospital web sites

MedSeek of Solvang, CA, has unveiled a solution that makes it possible for hospitals' marketing/public relations professionals and other non- technical managers to update the content of web sites and intranets. In addition, the product, called SiteMaker, can be used for the delivery of information such as internal policies and schedules that previously were disseminated through expensive printed pieces.
